Visiting Taiwan in November 2025? Christmas in Taipei and Taiwan kicks in with the launch of the biggest Christmas event in Taiwan, Taipei Christmasland which opens on 14 November 2025.
Whilst the Taiwan November events scene is a bit quieter than other months, Taipei blooms into life with the CKS Shilin Residence Chrysanthemum Festival and arts focused Taipei Nuit Blanche all night art festival.
Sports fans are in for a treat too – work up at a sweat at two of Taiwan’s biggest marathons, the Penghu Cross-Sea Marathon and Tianzhong Marathon or life’s a beach at the Taiwan Open of Surfing in Kenting.
Plus music lovers can also enjoy the Taichung Spring Wave Festival or the Ultra Taiwan festival in Taipei.

Yes, that time of the year has arrived already! Taipei at Christmas comes alive with a feast of festive favorites, classic Christmas lights and events (especially in Taipei mall and Taiwan theme-parks) – Taipei at Christmas 2025 in Taiwan promises to be a treat!
There are many Taiwan Christmas lights and events from Xinyi Christmas light displays to huge Christmas trees plus skating rinks, snow-covered winter villages and special Christmas markets.
Most Taipei shopping districts like Songshan Creative and Cultural Park also have classic Christmas displays and Christmas villages – it is a wonderful way to spend Christmas in Taipei with kids.

Taipei Christmasland 2025
14 November 2025 until 28 December 2025
Taipei Christmasland is back for 2025, bigger and better than ever before. It has won numerous awards including ‘Top 10 Must Visit Christmas Destinations in the World’ and this year’s theme is “Circus Carnival”.
Open from 14 November until 28 December, Taipei Christmasland in Banqiao is one of Taiwan’s biggest Christmas events, organized by the New Taipei City Tourism and Travel Department – and new for 2025, Taipei Christmasland will also feature the Line characters as mascots.
This year, immersive installations and several themed Christmas zones will be found at Citizen’s Square, Civic Plaza, Banqiao Station Square, New Banqiao Central Park, Banqiao Bus Station and Fuzhong Plaza.
On opening night on 14 November 2025, Taipei Christmas will have a spectacular circus-themed show as well as a large lantern as a colossal Christmas centerpiece.
Over the entire 45 day Taipei Christmasland celebrations, there will also be a European style alpine Christmas village and on 5 to 7 December 2025, a German Christmas Market.

German Christmas Market in Taipei
28 to 30 November 2025 at Taipei Expo Park
Taipei’s German Christmas Markets are back for 2025 – beginning from 28 November, you’ll see a few of these in Taipei over consecutive weekends (two more are taking place in December in different locations).
Taiwan’s German Trade Office Taipei (GTO) has been organising the Taipei German Christmas markets since 2020.
Taipei’s German Christmas markets feature festive foods like real German sausages, pork knuckles and Christmas stollen, as well as warm mulled wine.
From German beer (prost!) to Gluhwein (mulled wine), pretzels to Christmas presents, have a European style Christmas celebration in Taipei!

CKS Shilin Residence Chrysanthemum Festival 2025
28 November to 14 December 2025
The CKS Shilin Residence blooms into life for just over two weeks with its annual Chrysanthemum Festival which begins at the end of November.
This year’s festival theme is “Dreams” but we are sure this fine floral display won’t send you to sleep.

Nuit Blanche Taipei
1 and 2 November 2025
A Taipei arts festival (free admission), Nuit Blanche Taipei comes to the Da’an district in early November.
Taking place every year on the first Saturday of November, this is annual all night arts festival billed as an open air museum packed with performances.

Taichung Spring Wave Music Festival 20th Edition
31 October to 2 November 2025
Taiwan’s gorgeous glamping festival hits Taichung for a long weekend of wonderful fun and live music. It is family friendly with lots of activities and different theme zones.
There are over 50 different bands and musicians performing from countries all over the world plus a gourmet line up of local food stalls.
At the time of writing, a few details are still to be confirmed but some of the bands lined up for the Taichung Spring Wave Music Festival 2025 include Sugizo, Awich, Spyair, The Crane, Asterism, Cotoba and Sodagreen.

2025 Penghu Cross-Sea Marathon
2 November 2025
Taiwan’s only island hopping marathon returns this November in Penghu, which takes in seascapes, bridges, the stunning “Chrysanthemum Island” and coastal views – oh yes, and a heck of a lot of running too.
There are several marathon types to participate including a full, half and relay marathon.

2025 Tianzhong Marathon, Changhua
8 and 9 November 2025
One of the top 5 running race events in Taiwan, the “Rice Heaven-Tianzhong Marathon” is a rural run that takes place across rice-fields, countryside roads and is watched and cheered on by thousands of locals.
The Tianzhong Marathon usually attracts between 15,000 to 20,000 runners each year and the whole township gears up to welcome the influx of new faces with lots of side activities like food stalls and fun events.

Taiwan Open of Surfing
4 to 11 November 2025
Taiwan’s festival of surf rides into Taitung this November at Jinzun, a fishing village near Donghe – you won’t get ‘board’ easily.
Jinzun is home to a 2 mile sandy beach with amazing surfing conditions and it welcomes dozens of surfers to compete in the Taiwan Open of Surfing every year.

Ro Wonderlands / Ragnarok Monsters at Navy Destroyer Museum, Tainan
Now until 31 December 2025
Following on from the epic success of the Transformers style, a new year long family-fun exhibition has opened at the Navy Destroyer Museum in Anping Harbour in Tainan, Taiwan’s only warship museum.
Until 31 December 2025, you can catch these super-cute and colorful Ro Wonderlands characters onboard the ROCS Te Yang vessel (formerly the USS Sarsfield) which was built in 1945 and decommissioned in 2005. It has been docked in Anping Harbor since 2009.
Admission costs just NT$100 for adults, children under 6 go free.
