Capella Taipei – Taiwan Luxury Hotel Review 2026

Opened in late 2025 and one of Taiwan’s newest luxury hotels, welcome to Capella, Taipei’s modern mansion.

Perfect for a special occasion, Taiwan honeymoon or luxurious break, we had a VERY relaxing time during our Capella Taipei stay and we could have easily not left the 5 star luxury hotel during our entire time there.

Located in the leafy Minsheng neighborhood, Capella is one of Taiwan’s most sumptuous hotels, with incredible attention to detail to cater to your every whim.

It was a real treat to stay here. Everything we experienced during our two night stay was exceptional with stylish interiors, impeccable service and decadent dining experiences – and yes, there is an outdoor pool with views of Taipei 101!

Here is our review of Capella Taipei 臺北嘉佩樂酒店 + photos. We stayed and were hosted by Capella in January 2026.

One of the most luxurious hotels in Taiwan we’ve ever stayed in (and in fact anywhere in the world), this is the best way to start your Taipei vacation.

Whether you want to relax in the spa, work out in the gym or just relax at the pool or at The Living Room (complete with complimentary food and drinks), this Taipei treat can be as relaxing as you want to make it.

The hotel was designed by architect and interior designer André Fu who envisioned the space to have a more residential feel. Capella Taipei has already earned design acclaim and has been named ‘Best New Opening’ at the Wallpaper* Design Awards 2026.

At the time of writing in February 2026, Capella Taipei currently has a Google score of 4.7 out of 5, which is high praise indeed.

For a wonderful way to unwind and a local experience like no other, escape the hustle and bustle of Taipei and make Capella your sanctuary.

Capella Taipei Neighborhood

Located in the historic and trendy Minsheng neighborhood of Taipei along DunHua North Road, Capella is ideally situated in the Songshan District.

The hotel is located close to Taipei Arena and Songshan Airport (we could watch planes taking off from our room) and it is just a few minutes walk from Fujin Street, one of Taipei’s trendiest areas with lots of cool coffee shops.

As one of the morning rituals that Capella offers to guests, we were given a beautifully illustrated map of the local area with all the key sites to explore.

Capella Taipei offers a private limousine service to guests (highly recommended – the cars even contain special treats like their own brand of tea) or it is easy to get a taxi here or park onsite.

Capella is a 40 minute taxi / transfer ride away from Taipei Taoyuan International Airport or just a 4 minute / 1km drive from nearby Songshan Taipei Airport.

If you want to explore or use public transport, Taipei Arena MRT Station is just a 350 meter walk away.

Our Capella Taipei Room

Your opulent experience begins as soon as you arrive – we were greeted warmly by staff with all our luggage taken to our room, whilst we were checked in at The Living Room.

A homely place, this is the main social area and a great place to sip and snack after a long day of sightseeing or post spa / swimming session.

We stayed in a huge deluxe skyline room, which overlooked the swimming pool and we had views of Taipei 101.

The bed was super comfy with ample plug sockets and we made good use of the small lounge area, looking out towards the city.

Our Capella Taipei room was well stocked with a sleek and shiny mini-bar area, complete with lots of snacks like dried pineapple, seaweed and nuts.

The minibar had lots of (chargeable) local spirits like Kavalan Whisky or you could enjoy additional complimentary drinks, snacks, fruits and dessert downstairs in The Living Room.

Local tea and drip coffee was also available in the room and we often found new treats on our lounge table every time we returned like pineapple cake and truffle chocolates.

We watched Netflix on the huge TV and the Wi-Fi speed was exceptional. On the bedside table, there was an A.I. speaker that allowed you to control the lights and curtains/ blinds using voice activated controls (or just turn them off the old fashioned way with switches).

We liked the bathroom / wet room complete with a BIG bath, a separate Japanese style toilet plus also appreciated the twin sinks – there was ample storage room plus slippers and robes (ideal for the swimming pool).

Facilities at Capella Taipei

Of all the things to do at the hotel, we mainly made use of the Capella Taipei outdoor swimming pool – we stayed in early 2026 and were blessed with sunny and warm weather so the alfresco terrace and pool area was an absolute blessing.

We swam and relaxed both in the morning and at sunset – some rooms at Capella also have private pools.

Other facilities include a very well equipped gym plus the onsite spa, Capella Wellness – we used neither of these but can confirm both looked immaculate and modern (and smelt amazing)!

Capella guests can also access the stylish The Living Room featuring throughout the day, a place to relax, unwind and enjoy local drinks and treats.

We will talk about the Capella bars and restaurants soon…

Breakfast

Where to start with our Capella Taipei dining experience? We ate so well, from the in-room snacks to one of our best breakfast experiences ever!

Our first morning started with oysters and champagne for breakfast at Plume restaurant.

We ordered some items from the a la carte breakfast menu like scallion pancakes, beef noodle soup, eggs benedict plus more items from the bountiful breakfast buffet including sweet treats and pastries.

If you are still hungry after breakfast, Plume is a popular spot for afternoon tea in Taipei or grab some incredible desserts from Atelier Plume, the onsite European style bakery and pastry shop.

Dinner

For our first evening meal of our two night stay we tried a top tasting menu at the Michelin recommended Rong Ju Cantonese restaurant, designed by Hong Kong-born chef Chen Kuo-hua. We don’t want to ruin any surprises but the dessert we had as part of our tasting menu was truly unique!

The interior of Rong Ju is also rather special with its red roof tiles and design inspired by two ancient Banyan trees that are situated just outside the restaurant – a truly unforgettable dining experience in Taipei. There is also Ember 28 grill restaurant and Mizue Japanese restaurant.

Capella Bars / The Glasshouse

Three world class bars under one roof, we spent our second evening of our two night stay bar-hopping at The Glasshouse, a glitzy and glamorous night-time venue brought to you by Capella Hotel.

Opened in late 2025 and one of Taipei’s newest evening destinations, there are three bars to choose from, Tilt (amazing art deco interiors and the best food), Cooper, a wonderful whisky and cocktail bar on the top floor (boasting a huge array of spirits and curated drinks) plus Playback, a joyful Japanese style live music venue with inventive drinks and regular performances.

We had a terrific time enjoying cocktails, delicious small plates of bar snacks and enjoying live jazz – truly an entertaining and epicurean evening in Taipei.

Capella Moments

We really enjoyed the carefully curated Capella moments like morning rituals and afternoon workshops – these are organised and run by Capella Culturists, who go out of their way to make your stay memorable.

As we checked in, we were warmly greeted by Jordan, our dedicated Capella Culturist (one of many helpful Capella staff who helped us throughout our stay).

We got to make our own Taiwanese aiyu jelly plus had a morning breakfast ritual whereby we sat below a historic banyan tree outside the hotel, and learned about the local neighborhood.

One of our most fun Capella moments was a wonderful day trip to Pinglin, to immerse ourselves in the intricate artistry of tea-making.

We journeyed to the heart of Pinglin to visit a private tea farm – Fortune Tea Garden, for a tea picking experience where we were shown how to pick the freshest leaves, learned about the post production processes, and enjoyed a tea tasting session.

Before we headed back to Taipei, we stopped for lunch and sparkling tea at Just Pinglin restaurant at the entrance of Pinglin Old Street, which is located in a heritage building.

The menu focuses on local and tea-inspired dishes using ingredients from the Pinglin area. Whilst we dined at the restaurant, we had a chance to make and roll our own matcha boba tea pearls and enjoy them freshly cooked with milk tea.

Capella Taipei 臺北嘉佩樂酒店 Summary

An excellent place to unwind in a beautiful hotel, Capella Taipei is a memorable stay, from the exquisite dining and bar options to the rooftop swimming pool and amazing views of Taipei 101.

Our room was so comfy and staff so friendly, we didn’t want to leave at all – but with so many captivating Capella moments on offer from workshops to our tea plantation trip, this was such a terrific time in Taipei and Taiwan overall.

One of our best stays anywhere in the world and the Capella staff could not do enough for us; thank you.

And oysters and champagne for breakfast is an experience we would certainly like to repeat one day!
