Best Taipei Luxury Hotels We’ve Stayed in – 2026 Guide

As regular travellers to Taiwan, we stay in a lot of hotels and post about our experience and accommodation reviews in our Taiwan Travel Tips (TTT) Facebook group.

On our latest 2026 trip to Taiwan, we booked over 30 hotels and have curated our favourite and best Taipei luxury hotels that we’ve personally stayed in.

From rooftop pools to Taipei 101 views, sumptuous restaurants to blissful baths, these are the best Taipei luxury hotels based on our own personal experiences – and Taipei has some awesome accommodation to suit all styles and styles, catering to your every whim.

Featuring new Taipei luxury hotels like Capella Taipei and Grand Hilai to luxury classics like Shangri-La Far Eastern, we also review the wonderful W Taipei in Xinyi and recommend what we think its the best hotel (and family friendly resort) near Taipei Taoyuan Airport, COZZI Blu Taoyuan.

Best Luxury Taipei Hotel in Songshan / Minsheng

Capella Taipei

Opened in late 2025 and one of Taiwan’s newest luxury hotels, welcome to Capella, Taipei’s modern mansion.

Perfect for a special occasion, Taiwan honeymoon or luxurious break, we had a VERY relaxing time during our Capella Taipei stay and we could have easily not left the 5 star luxury hotel during our entire time there.

Capella Taipei Highlights:

• Swimming pool with Taipei 101 views.
• Capella Moments – local experiences like morning rituals and afternoon workshops.
• Unwind in The Living Room, a chic social area to sip and snack or enjoy the spa – breakfast in Plume was our best Taipei breakfast experience ever.
• Several sumptuous onsite restaurants and The Glasshouse bar and live music complex.

The hotel was designed by architect and interior designer André Fu who envisioned the space to have a more residential feel. Capella Taipei has already earned design acclaim and has been named ‘Best New Opening’ at the Wallpaper* Design Awards 2026.

Best Luxury Taipei Hotel in Xinyi

W Taipei

For a homely yet luxury hotel stay with Taipei 101 views and beautiful surroundings, be sure to book the W Taipei hotel.

Popular with business travellers, Taiwan tourists and younger couples, the 5 star W Taipei is in the heart of Taipei’s Xinyi commercial district with malls and restaurants galore – but given all the facilities like a rooftop pool, gym and spa plus incredible onsite restaurants, maybe you won’t want to leave?

We stayed in a Fantastic Suite which had amazing Taipei 101 views (even from the bath-tub), the comfiest bed and a lovely lounge area plus a cute snug with city views.

W Taipei Highlights

• Outdoor pool on level with the WET poolside bar – a gym and AWAY spa are also available.
• YEN Bar & Restaurant on the 31st floor, YEN is one of the best bars in Taipei with views of Taipei 101. The food at YEN Chinese restaurant was incredible – the best duck we ever had. The big buffet breakfast was excellent too.
• Taipei 101 views from selected room with large suites available.
• One of the best located luxury hotels in Taipei – close to malls and the business district.

We also loved the attention to minor details at W Taipei, from numerous plus sockets in the room to incredibly attentive staff – and we spent many hours relaxing in our room just staring at the captivating cityscape in front of us.

Best Luxury Taipei Hotel in Dunhua / South Road Business

Shangri-La Far Eastern

One of Taipei’s tallest (43 floors) and most well-established hotels, Shangri-La Far Eastern is a luxury Taipei hotel known for its East-meets-West design style – and if you are looking for a Taipei hotel with views, many rooms here look out over the city towards Taipei 101.

We stayed in a ‘Premier Taipei 101 King room’ which was super spacious with a lounge area and desk. The room had a lovely set up by the window with comfy chairs to sit and enjoy the Taipei 101 views – this would also be a good base to work from, if your next trip to Taipei is business related

Shangri-La Far Eastern Taipei highlights

• a heated outdoor rooftop pool with a separate hot tub.
• The Shangri-La Far Eastern buffet breakfast was brilliant with so many food stations including a choice of Eastern and Western dishes (including Haagan Daz if you so wish)!
• Their famous Shanghai Pavilion restaurant – try the signature delicacy Chinese set menu.
• Taipei 101 views from so many vantage points including sun loungers and the pool.

We particularly liked that our room had a large closet so we could store all our belongings away out of sight, plus the bathroom had a small TV so I could watch news channels whilst taking a bath!

Nearby attractions to Shangri-La Far Eastern include Linjiang Night Market and multiple restaurants. There is also a convenient connecting mall to the hotel which has many fashion stores.

The hotel has a more traditional and homely feel with a premium vibe and we really enjoyed our stay – those views are priceless.

Best Luxury Taipei Hotel in Taipei East District

HOTEL PROVERBS

A real Taipei treat, the luxury HOTEL PROVERBS is located in trendy Dongqu (Taipei’s East District). This beautiful boutique hotel was created by designer Ray Chen and has a rooftop swimming pool plus an onsite Italian restaurant and the award winning East End bar.

We enjoyed a stylish deluxe room complete with lounge area and opulent bathroom, plus there are five different a la carte breakfast choices every morning in the downstairs L’IDIOT GRILL& PASTA restaurant.

HOTEL PROVERBS highlights

• Home to East End, Taiwan’s first hotel bar to be included in Asia’s 50 Best Bars list.
• Great location in an emerging Eastern Taipei neighborhood – close to a MRT station with multiple bars, restaurants, cafes and stores within walking distance.
• An outdoor rooftop pool (you can see Taipei 101 from the sun loungers).
• Stylish room interiors – we loved the  luxurious materials like warm wood, metal and marble.

We loved our HOTEL PROVERBS deluxe room – it kind of felt more like an apartment than a standard hotel room. It breaks away from traditional room layouts. You enter straight into the bathroom (the huge bath is appreciated after a lot of walking), followed by the living area, and finally the sleeping area.

Our lounge had a small minibar with complimentary snacks, soft drinks and a Nespresso coffee maker.

We also liked the outdoor balcony space overlooking the neighborhood and drinking at East End Bar in the hotel plus nights out at neighboring craft beer bars like Taihu Tasting Room Da’an.

Best Luxury Taipei Hotel in Nangang

Grand Hilai Taipei

The Grand Hilai Taipei is a new luxury hotel located at the end of the Bannan MRT line – it is located immediately next to Taipei Nangang Exhibition Center and the modern Mitsui Shopping Park LaLaport Nangang.

A popular business hotel that opened in late 2023, we stayed at Grand Hilai Taipei because it one of the less expensive 5* hotels in Taipei (often less than $100 USD a night) and we also wanted to check out Nangang and the new Lalaport mall immediately next door.

Grand Hilai Taipei Highlights

• Lush rooms in a luxury 5 star hotel that are often less than half the price of those in downtown Taipei.
• A couple of minutes walk from the MRT and right next door to one of Taipei’s biggest and newest malls – Mitsui Shopping Park LaLaport Nangang.
• Home to the very popular Island Buffet Restaurant.
• Rooftop pool, gym, spa and even a rooftop chapel for weddings!

Our room was large, plush and clean with a lounge area overlooking the local neighborhood and some green hills – the room had a large bath, Nespresso pod coffee machine plus a super comfy bed.

Good Wifi, Netflix TV and plenty of plug points were all here, as you’d expect from a high-end Taipei hotel – there was a free mini-bar (mainly soft drinks and one tiny Kirin beer).

We stayed at Grand Hilai Taipei in February 2026.

Best luxury hotel near Taipei Airport (Taoyuan)

COZZI Blu Taoyuan

A luxury Taoyuan hotel perfect for families and near to Taipei Taoyuan International Airport, a stay at COZZI Blu Taoyuan is the perfect way to start or end your Taiwan trip. In fact, it has so many cool features and nearby attractions, you could easily base yourself here for a longer trip.

Handily located next door to Taoyuan’s top attractions XPark Aquarium and the famous Gloria Outlets mall, COZZI Blu Taoyuan opened in 2020 with some cool ocean themed interiors.

One of the key draws here is all the fun features and daily kid’s activities which are ideal for families plus they run free regular shuttles to and from Taoyuan HSR station.

COZZI Blu Taoyuan Highlights

• One of the most fun hotels we’ve stayed in – like the ocean theme, serving robots and an indoor picnic area – close to lots of family attractions too.
• Great facilities like a lush business center, laundry, kid’s club, gym and E-games.
• The COZZI Blu Taoyuan restaurants were exceptional and the evening buffet is one of the best we’ve been to in Taiwan.
• Try the ocean themed cocktails at their Blu Bar – cheers!

We stayed in a COZZI King room and there was lots of space to unpack in, a lovely lounge area overlooking a local lake plus a very comfortable bed.

Our room also had the biggest TV we’ve ever encountered of any Taiwan hotel room we’ve ever stayed in – one TV channel also showed a live feed from the big fishtank at XPark – so cool!

In keeping with all the family fun, there is a Cabin Zone on level 3 which has weekend storytelling sessions for kids, daily hands-on activities plus a mini aquarium feature.
