In our Taiwan Travel Tips (TTT) Facebook group, there are often questions about where to shop in Taiwan for inexpensive clothes be they summer shorts, swimming costumes or winter gear. This is possibly explained more so by Taiwan’s changeable weather rather than by poor packing or travel planning.

One of the main Taiwan fashion shops that gets mentioned in NET. With over 150 NET fashion stores around Taiwan, it is a clothing chain that is similar in style to UNIQLO and GAP…but much MUCH cheaper.

What are NET Stores in Taiwan?
NET is a firm fashion favourite with Taiwanese locals and travellers alike – their inexpensive clothes, simple fashion and ever changing collections make them one of best fashion stores in Taiwan – although some people think the quality of the garments isn’t the greatest (personally, it has never been an issue for us).
NET Taiwan was founded in 1991 and is known as Taiwan’s first famous fashion brand. It used to be called The Housewife’s Mall until it was rebranded as NET in 1996 to become more modern and chic.
Its longevity over the years has been put down to it being known for affordable Taiwan fashion, and more cheaper than international fashion brands that are also in Taiwan like UNIQLO and H&M.
Another feature of NET that shoppers like is that some of their stores remain open until late, making shopping for clothes easy after work (or a day of sightseeing and tourism).

How many Taiwan Net stores / clothing shops are there?
As of March 2025, there are over 150 NET stores in Taiwan with over 60 stores in the New Taipei area alone.
The highest concentration of NET clothing stores are in the biggest Taiwan cities with around 35 NET stores in and around Kaohsiung, 35 in Taichung and over 10 in Tainan. There are also stores in Taiwan cities like Chiayi, Taitung, Keelung and Hualien.
Tourists to Taipei in search of a fashion bargain will find them in all the big Taipei shopping areas like Ximending, Zhongshan and Xinyi.
Many NET Taiwan stores are open until 10pm on Sunday to Thursdays and until 10.30pm on Friday and Saturday nights.

What can you buy at NET Taiwan?
Sometimes it is hard to plan for the weather during your Taiwan trip – what can start as a blustery cold day can sometimes become a wonderfully warm afternoon or vice versa.
So if you do arrive in Taiwan with insufficient clothing or the wrong type of gear, NET Taiwan clothing stores might be your saviour.
NET have both mens and women’s fashions plus children’s clothing (NET Kids) – they also stock fashion accessories like belts, hats and jewellery – and to assist with the wet weather, NET stock umbrellas, raincoats and more.
On a recent trip to Taiwan in early 2025, we also spotted a whole Taiwan themed collection, including t-shirts with the Taiwan black bear and bubble tea – so an excellent place for fun Taiwan souvenirs too.

NET Prices
As mentioned, the reason for the popularity of Taiwan NET’s clothing stores and fashion ranges is that NET prices are quite inexpensive compared to other brands.
Better yet, NET often has seasonal sales where they sell stock at discount – look for these sale sections at the rear of the store, often referred to as the ‘red label sale’.
Multibuy discounts are common at NET fashion stores too – for instance, one pair of men’s hipster briefs sell for NT$99 or you can buy three pairs for NT$250.

Frequently asked questions about NET
Can you do tax refunds at NET?
No, sadly you cannot do tax refunds instore at NET.
What are NET’s opening hours?
It varies from store to store but most from 11am or 11.30am and close at 10pm (10.30pm on Fridays and Saturdays). Some of the smaller NET stores in Taiwan close at 9.30pm.
Can you buy NET Taiwan fashion online ?

Free domestic shipping is available on purchases of over NT$1,000 – deliveries can also be picked up at participating Taiwan 7-Eleven stores.

Do NET Taiwan ship and deliver overseas?
NET stores in Taiwan do NOT currently offer shipping and delivery outside of Taiwan – which is another good reason for why you need to visit Taiwan in person.
