With a recent refurbishment in May 2024, the 7-Eleven Pokémon theme store Chonghui in Kaohsiung has all your Pokémon favorites like big Pikachu plushies, Nintendo Switch gaming, a Pokémon trading card battle area plus awesome arcade machines.

The first thing you notice is how yellow and brightly coloured the store is – you certainly won’t miss it!

On the outside, there are huge billboards with all your favourite Pokémon characters plus Pikachu poking out on the store windows and ceilings – a very cool entrance!

There is also a huge wrap / mural outside the 7-11 featuring Charmander, Wingull, Ivysaur and more! You’ll also see several small Pikachus by the counter, plus characters hiding above all the fridges and chiller cabinets – literally ‘cool!’

The store has been designed to resemble a magical forest with a bright blue sky. There are 7-11 Pokémon graphics all over the store including Gengar right behind the serving counter – gotta find them all!

You’ll also see several small Pikachus by the counter, plus characters hiding above all the fridges and chiller cabinets – literally ‘cool!’. We revisited this store in February 2025 and it was one of the busiest 7-Elevens in Kaohsiung.

Located in the Zuoying District, the Pokémon and Pikachu 7-Eleven is a short walk from both the Zuoying High Speed Rail (HSR) station and the Xin Zuoying local train station (which is home to several station cats).

2. Snoopy themed 7-Eleven Kaohsiung

At the time of writing, there are two Snoopy themed 7-Elevens in Kaohsiung – we decided to visit the bigger of the two because it also has a 7-Eleven Taiwan bar.

On our recent 2025 Kaohsiung trip, we visited a Snoopy themed 7-Eleven that has a 7-Eleven bar inside! Yes, you can drink draft beer and cocktails at the bar or alongside Snoopy in the Peanuts bus!

Enjoy snacks bought in 7-Eleven with your drinks ( like actual peanuts) plus there is lots of Snoopy merchandise & other cartoon character gifts to buy.

As this is a little away from the major Kaohsiung attractions, it was actually pretty quiet when we visited one Friday night and we had the bar and Snoopy bus to ourselves.

3. Hello Kitty 7-Eleven Kaohsiung

As one of the most popular cartoon characters in Taiwan and across Asia, it comes as no surprise that there is a Hello Kitty themed 7-Eleven in Kaohsiung – we’ve already written about the two Taipei Hello Kitty 7-Elevens.

As it happens, most 7-Elevens in Taiwan sell Sanrio branded merchandise but this Kaohsiung Hello Kitty 7-Eleven takes it to the next level – it is the ‘purr-fect’ place to enjoy Hello Kitty and her Sanrio stablemates.

The Hello Kitty theme starts as soon as you arrive with a HUGE Hello Kitty on the 7-Eleven store front- Miaow! Once inside, an adorable Hello Kitty statue greets you, complete with a colossal coffee cup.

Loads of Sanrio and Hello Kitty gifts are available inside – check out the Hello Kitty shaped cabinets and feline furniture. The cafe dining tables also are all hollowed out with Hello Kitty merchandise inside behind a perspex surface.

A cavalcade of Hello Kitty cuteness, this is one of the most fun themed 7-Elevens in Kaohsiung.

P.S. We think Kaohsiung’s most famous cat might be Mikan the Station Cat, who has thousands of social followers and several gift-shops >

4. Kaohsiung Bugcat Capoo 7-Eleven

A character unique to Taiwan, this is a blue 7-Eleven but in a very VERY good way.

Bugcat Capoo (貓貓蟲咖波) is one of the most popular Taiwanese cartoon characters. A cute cross between a blue cat and a bug, the character was created by Taiwan illustrator Yara (亞拉).

A bubbly blue male cat with six legs, Bugcat Capoo is popular on the LINE messaging system – he also likes to eat humans so you have been warned. Talk about one cool cat!

Bugcat Capoo and all his friends are brilliantly brought to life in this themed 7-Eleven – the cafe area has fun cartoon statues and Bugcat Capoo branded merchandise is available throughout.

We bought the Bugcat Daruma style doll as one of the few things we could fit in our luggage (no cat moped helmets for us alas).

Even the bathroom area has Bugcat Capoo theming (hopefully you won’t find kitty litter in the toilet).

This is such a good themed 7-Eleven in Kaohsiung and loads to buy if you are a Bugcat Capoo fan – even the 7-Eleven City Cafe coffee cups are Bugcat branded, which you can enjoy on themed tables; fur real!

5. Tomica 7-Eleven

Kaohsiung’s newest themed 7-Eleven, ‘whizz’ on down to the Tomica toy themed 7-Eleven near  Dashun Light Rail station.

Tomica is a toy company that specialises in model cars and train-sets and this has been brought to life in store.

The ceiling has a huge toy race-track overhead and you can ‘race’ around the store looking at all the car decals and stickers on the walls, cabinets and tables – outside, there is a huge TOMICA mural plus several toy car capsule machines.

6. Kanahei’s Small Animals 7-Eleven

Meet Piske the Rabbit and Usagi the bird, the popular characters created by renowned Japanese illustrator Kanahei (also known as Kanahera in some countries).

The Kanahei / Kanahera 7-Eleven in Kaohsiung is just a short hop from Kaohsiung Central Park MRT Station.

Kanahei’s small animals are brought to life in and around the 7-Eleven dining area including Piske posing with Usagi on a giant swan plus Usagi sat on one of the tables drinking a smoothie.

The themed seating area is super-cute and it kinda feels like having lunch in a weird and wonderful magical forest (well, sort of) – the shelves are also stocked with so much Kanahei Small Animal merchandise plus there are themed coffee cups.

Fantasea Underwater themed 7-Eleven

Taiwan is famous for its themed 7-Elevens (there are over 100), and Kaohsiung is no different – swim down to the basement level of Dream Mall and find an underwater themed 7-Eleven.

You can drink your coffee in an aquatic themed seating area (complete with jellyfish lights) and Open chan characters diving from the room – there are even seating booths with portals, which makes it look to passersby that you are eating underwater.
