For those travelling to Taiwan and planning to enter the Lucky Land draw, you might want to opt for the Lucky Land accommodation vouchers as your potential prize.
The Taiwan Lucky Land prize draw is one of the most discussed topics in our Taiwan Travel Tips (TTT) group. Based on many posts, it would appear you have a higher chance of winning if you opt for the Lucky Land accommodation vouchers over the prepaid EasyCards.
This post may contain affiliate links to tours and hotels. These help us earn a small commission at no additional charge to you.

This is because a lot more Taiwan travellers go for the cash-cards so the chances of winning are likely lower compared to the accommodation voucher prizes.
Even if you already have your own Taiwan accommodation and hotels already booked, did you know you can use the Lucky Land accommodation vouchers on food, drink and spa treatments in selected hotels (even if you aren’t a guest)?
We recently dined at several hotels in Taipei and Kenting using Lucky Land vouchers and had an amazing (and ‘stomach-filling) experience.
From how to enter the draw to our recommendations on where to spend the vouchers, here is our Taiwan Lucky Land accommodation voucher guide + photos.

Taiwan Lucky Land prize choice & strategy
You can choose between two main prize categories, accommodation vouchers (which can also be used in hotel restaurants and spas), plus prepaid cash cards:
Taiwan Accommodation Vouchers to the value of NT$5,000
These have the value of approx £120 or $155 USD. They are valid for 90 days from you winning / entering the country.
Note that hotel vouchers can only be used on an official Taiwan Tourism list of “Participated Accommodations” and their direct rates may be higher than you find online elsewhere from third party sellers such as booking.com.
Note if you win, you receive 5 x NT$1000 vouchers via email which you can split across venues / hotels but you cannot get change from any underspend. BUT you can pay any difference in cash.
So if you want to use your vouchers across more than one hotel and use them tactically, use your vouchers to the nearest NT$1,000 then pay the balance in cash eg for a buffet cost of NT$3,200, use NT$3,000 in vouchers and pay the NT$200 as the balance, so you can use the remaining vouchers elsewhere.
Pre-paid E-Ticket vouchers
You will receive an EasyCard, iPass or iCash 2.0 card to the value of NT$5,000.

Which prize should you choose?
We have now played the Lucky Land Taiwan prize draw twice, once in October 2024 and again in January 2025.
When we chose the prepaid cash cards on our first entry, neither of us won (BOOO!) but when we returned to Taiwan again in early 2025, we opted for accommodation vouchers and both WON!

We each won NT$5,000 in accommodation vouchers or NT$10,000 between us – this equates to around £235 / $305 USD in vouchers to spend at selected hotels.
It would appear you have a better chance of winning if you select the accommodation vouchers as most people opt for the prepaid cash card vouchers instead (lowering your chances of winning).

Obviously it isn’t guaranteed that you’ll win but it should increase your chances – members of our Taiwan Travel Tips (TTT) Facebook group keep telling us they win more when they selected accommodation vouchers.
Many people don’t pick Lucky Land accommodation vouchers as they already have their Taiwan hotels booked – but the great thing is that the vouchers can be used in hotel restaurants, bars and spa / bathing treatments.

Lucky Land hotel buffet & hotel services
A hot topic of conversation in our Taiwan Travel Tips group is where to use accommodation vouchers if you already have hotels booked.
On the official Taiwan Lucky Land, you will find a list of all the participating hotels across Taiwan where you can both stay or use the vouchers for their restaurants, bars and spas.

If you look in the second column labelled ‘Item’, all of the Lucky Land hotels participating in the campaign which also allow the vouchers to be used for dining have a ‘knife and fork’ whilst those who offer spa and bathing treatments have a ‘steam / hot tub’ icon.
And you don’t need to be an in-house guest to enjoy the restaurants or spas – you can just use them as a guest.

Most hotels require you to book in advance and we booked our three hotel buffets either via online booking forms on the hotel site or by emailing the hotel directly stating we wanted to use our hotel booking vouchers.
Taiwanderers Tip – book your Taiwan / Taipei hotels months in advance if you can as prices sometimes increase the nearer to your trip. If you use Agoda, you can book cancellable hotels so you can rebook with ease if you find a better deal or lower price nearer the time.

Lucky Land Taiwan – best hotel buffets
We both won NT$5,000 in Lucky Land vouchers so had a combined spend of NT$10,000 – these vouchers must be used within 90 days of receiving them so we opted to spend them all across our latest three week trip to Taiwan.
Based on our Facebook group recommendations and Google Maps reviews, we chose and spent our Lucky Land accommodation vouchers at two hotel buffets in Taipei and one hotel buffet in Kenting in southern Taiwan.
Taipei Grand Hyatt
Our first use of our Lucky Land accommodation vouchers was at the Grand Hyatt’s ‘Cafe’ restaurant buffet. We booked an evening slot which cost NT$2,080 each plus tax. The price was about NT$300 more expensive than usual as it was during the 2025 Lunar New Year holiday.
We used four vouchers (NT$4,000) and paid the tiny bit extra we owed with our own money.

We couldn’t book online as the restaurant booking form was asking for a monetary deposit. We just emailed the Grand Hyatt Taipei and explained that we were using the Lucky Land vouchers so didn’t want to put a deposit down. They understood straight away and sent us a booking confirmation.

The buffet was great and had a fantastic selection of food. We loved the deep fried scallops, sashimi, mussels and prawns, plus some of the tasty meats such as roast beef and lamb chops. The truffle risotto was also delightful.
There was so much food to choose from. One thing we did note was that if you are vegetarian, then the hot food selection isn’t that great.

Neil’s favourite part of the buffet was the self pour beer!

To note some of our group members have also used Lucky Land vouchers to use the spa at the Taipei Grand Hyatt and recommended it. A spa treatment combined with a dinner buffet might be a nice way to have a ‘blow-out’ and use all your winning vouchers in one go.

Taipei Regent Hotel
Our second use of the free vouchers was at the Regent hotel’s ‘Brasserie’ restaurant buffet. We booked an afternoon tea slot which is slightly cheaper than the lunch and dinner slots (it apparently has a smaller selection of food).
It cost us NT$1,380 each plus tax. The price was a bit more expensive than usual as it was during the Lunar New Year holiday in January 2025. Weekday afternoon tea is usually NT$1,080 and weekends NT$1,280.

The bill came to NT$3,036. We used 3 vouchers (NT$3,000) and paid the tiny bit extra we owed with our own money (NT$36).
We booked the restaurant online and they didn’t ask us to put down a deposit which was good.
The buffet was amazing and had a great selection of food considering it was the afternoon tea slot. We loved the roast beef, sashimi, prawns, clams in laksa sauce, Haagen Daz ice cream and passion fruit. Soft drinks were also available.

When it came to paying it was much smoother than the Grand Hyatt and the staff sorted the bill very quickly (the table next to us also were using Lucky Land vouchers).
We loved this buffet and would definitely eat here again when we are next in Taipei.

Caesar’s Resort, Kenting
Our third (and final) use of the free vouchers was at Caesar’s hotel in Kenting’s buffet restaurant.
We took advantage of a February special offer & paid NT$1,722 for both of us including tax. We used 2 vouchers (NT$2,000) – note you don’t get any change back but they offer to let us use the difference in the reception cafe (but we were too full after the buffet)!

We booked the restaurant online and they didn’t ask us to put down a deposit.
The buffet was great value and there was plenty of choice food wise. We loved the roast beef, sashimi, prawns, tea infused crème brûlée and Movenpick ice cream. Soft drinks and pour your own beers were also available.

We thought this was a great spot in Kenting to use your Lucky Land vouchers and definitely one to consider if you are in the area on your next trip!
