Regent Taipei: Luxury Hotel Review 2026

For a luxury Taipei stay in the vibrant Zhongshan neighbourhood, reward yourself with a relaxing stay at the Regent Taipei.

One of the best luxury 5 star hotels in Taiwan (and with 8 restaurants to choose from), we recently had a wonderful stay at Regent Taipei with Tai Pan Lounge access, incredible food and a view of Taipei 101 from our room.

Tai Pan Lounge

Popular with business travellers, Taiwan tourists and visiting couples, the Regent Taipei is located in the coolest part of Taipei’s trendy Zhongshan neighbourhood, close to malls, restaurants, bars and more. But given all the facilities like a rooftop pool, gym and spa plus upscale onsite shops and concessions, maybe you might just stay and unwind in the hotel.

And be sure to treat yourself to an executive room or suite, so you can access the 24 hour Tai Pan Lounge (大班廊) for inclusive breakfast, afternoon tea, snacks, drinks and dinner.

Here is our review of the 5 star Regent Taipei hotel plus our photos. We stayed and were hosted by Regent Taipei in October 2026.

One of the best hotels in Zhongshan we’ve stayed in, this is a great way to start your time in Taipei or catch up with work – plus there is so much great Taiwanese and international food to enjoy including their famous Brasserie buffet restaurant.

Whether you want to unwind in the pool or spa or just work on your laptop in incredible surroundings, your time at Regent Taipei can be as busy or relaxing as you want to make it.

As of late 2026, we’ve been fortunate enough to stay in several Silks Hotel Group properties including the Silks Place Taroko (read our review here), Silks Place Yilan (read our review here) and Wellspring by Silks Beitou (review coming soon).

The Regent Taipei and all Silks Place / Wellspring by Silks properties are 5 star hotels in distinctive Taiwan locations, in comfortable stylish surroundings with many ways to relax.

Regent Taipei Neighborhood

Located in Zhongshan, this is Taipei’s trendiest district and hipster hangout, a Taipei neighborhood known for cool cafes, boutique shops and a wide variety of shopping from luxury brands to vintage bargains.

Trendy Zhongshan neighbourhood

In fact, there are several malls all within a few footsteps of the Regent Taipei including Shin Kong Mitsukoshi and Eslite Spectrum Nanxi (or just shop inside the hotel at the Regent Taipei Galleria, which includes brands like Louis Vuitton, Bvlgari and Chanel).

Every side-street in Zhongshan is packed with hole-in-the-wall bars or a treasure trove of thrift stores. On the weekends, thousands of trendsetters visit the flea markets or pop-up festivals along Zhongshan Linear Park.

As well as modern bars and Japanese style izakaya restaurants, there are still lots of traditional buildings that have been repurposed like the Film House, set-up in the former US Ambassador’s home.

Zhongshan is a perfect place in Taipei to stay for:

  • Luxury shopping, cool kids, beauty treatments and under the radar boutiques
  • Culture vultures – check out the Museum of Contemporary Art Taipei
  • Charming cafes and craft beer bars hidden in the side-street

Getting to the Regent Taipei

The hotel is a short walk from exit 4 of Zhongshan MRT Station (served by the red Tamsui-Xinyi Line and the green Songshan-Xindian Line) – or there are plenty of taxis in the local area and it is easy to get picked up or dropped off in front of the hotel, as the Taipei Regent has a huge front entrance and fountain area.

The Regent Taipei is around a 15 minute minute taxi ride from Taipei Main Station or Songshan Airport, or around a 35 minute transfer from Taiwan Taoyuan International Airport. The hotel can also arrange transfers for you.

Check out these private transfers from Taoyuan Airport with Klook or our private driver guide.

Checking in

Our check-in process at the Regent Taipei was stress free and your luxury Taipei experience begins as soon as you arrive – after arriving in the city, we easily got a taxi from Taipei Main Station and a few minutes later, our car pulled up by the fabulous fountain feature in front of the Regent Taipei.

We were greeted warmly by staff and took care of our luggage before checking in on the 19th floor in the Tai Pan Residence and Club executive lounge.

Please note this experience and Tai Pan lounge access is only available for certain executive rooms and suites at the Regent Taipei – we’d highly recommend it as the 24 hour lounge access with complimentary food, drinks and more is well worth it.

As we checked in, we enjoyed a cool towel and warming tea in the lounge – unlike a lot of Taipei hotels, we loved the fact our room key was an actual old-school big brass key, not a plastic card.

All of our luggage was also taken upstairs by the concierge to our 18th floor room.

As soon as we opened the door with our key, we knew we were in for a treat as our accommodation had a lovely lounge area looking towards Taipei 101…

Our Regent Taipei room

Our room type was a King Club Room and 484 square meters in size – it was a huge space with a VERY comfortable king size bed.

We made good use of the desk space to work from plus spent much time sitting on the sofa, lounging in our bath robes, looking out towards Taipei 101 and eating the complimentary sweet treats and snacks provided.

The included mini-bar was also very much appreciated including soft drinks and Taiwan Beer, plus we loved waking up to a pod coffee made using the in-room coffee machine.

One neat feature of our Regent Taipei room we really liked was the separate tap in the bathroom for filtered water meaning we could use it for drinks and brushing our teeth.

The bathroom was BIG compared to a lot of Taipei hotels we’ve stayed in with a separate toilet and shower cubicle, plus a big bath complete with a pillow and cute rubber duck!

The Wi-Fi speed was fast and we enjoyed watching television and streaming movies on the big television.

At night, there was a turn down service and we would return to the room to find fresh bathroom towels, plus chocolates on the bed.

Tai Pan Residence and Club Lounge at Regent Taipei

One of the best features of Regent Taipei was 24 hour access to the Tai Pan Lounge on the 19th floor (for certain room types / packages only).

The Tai Pan Residence and Club at Regent Taipei is an exclusive lounge and business area with butler service which is open all hours, with various activities and offerings during different times of the day.

We spent a LOT of time in the Tai Pan lounge as it was a great place to work, unwind and enjoy excellent service – and it has a nice view of Taipei 101 lit up in the evening.

We enjoyed breakfast, afternoon tea, and evening hot dishes and alcoholic drinks here during our stay, all included as part of our room rate.

The main Tai Pan lounge offerings are:

  • Private buffet breakfast from 6.30am to 10am (or you can take breakfast in the larger Brasserie Buffet downstairs – more on this later)
  • Afternoon Tea Sets – serving the best signature sweet treats and hot drinks from 2.30pm to 5pm daily (seasonal selection – our cheesecake was sooooo good)

  • Cocktails (plus many more drink options including beer and wine) and the chef’s signature hot dishes from 5.30pm until 8pm
  • Drinks (wine and beer) with snacks from 8pm until 10pm.

We also visited the lounge outside of these hours to work on our laptops and enjoy tea and coffee or read the daily newspaper – the Tai Pan lounge was truly our second home whilst staying at the Regent Taipei.

Other food, drink and restaurants at Regent Taipei

You will never go hungry here as there are 8 restaurants and 1 dedicated bar in the Regent Taipei including ROBIN’S Teppanyaki (2F), Silks House Cantonese restaurant (3F) and Mihan Honke Japanese restaurant (B3).

We were fortunate enough to enjoy a big breakfast at Brasserie one morning, plus a sumptuous evening meal in the lobby at the awesome azie restaurant, as we listened to the live musicians.

azie

On our first night at the Regent Taipei, we dined at azie and devoured a decadent dinner of A5 wagyu beef carved in front of us by the restaurant chef, plus their award winning beef noodles, once named as Taipei’s best beef noodles by CNN.

We tried both their Regent Champion Clear Broth Beef Noodles plus their rich Regent Classic Braised Beef Noodles – both were excellent but we slightly preferred the stronger taste of the classic beef noodles.

Alongside our wonderful wagyu beef dish, we also loved the Regent Taipei signature dish New York Wontons (紐約抄手), which are shrimp and pork wontons covered in a spicy chilli oil and a rich peanut butter sauce, said to be a favourite of the Silks Hotel Group chairman.

Brasserie 台北晶華酒店栢麗廳

Prior to this stay, we had previously been to Brasserie for their famous lunch buffet and we’d rate it as one of the best buffets in Taipei.

It has several serving stations, decadent desserts plus unlimited drinks. We loved the roast beef, sashimi, prawns, clams in laksa sauce, Häagen-Dazs ice cream and passion fruit.

This time, we had the Brasserie breakfast buffet and again, it did not disappoint. It had dozens of local and Western dishes plus other dedicated Asian food sections like Japanese and Korean foods.

We especially enjoyed some of the Taiwanese breakfast dishes like egg pancakes, dim sum, fan tuan rice rolls handmade for you, soy milk and fried dough, scallion bread plus so many marvellous dishes to choose from.

We ate well including salmon, grilled mackerel, omelettes and sausages plus enjoyed fresh fruit, salad and ‘detox’ juice as well as tea and coffee – a brilliant way to start your Taipei day.

Facilities at Regent Taipei

In addition to the Tai Pan lounge, one of the best features of the Regent Taipei is the outdoor heated rooftop pool complete with sun loungers.

The pool has two lanes for swimmers, and one lane for ‘play’.

Other facilities include a very well equipped gym, Sky Studio, a sauna plus the onsite Wellspring spa – we used none of these as we were too busy eating, drinking and working!

In addition to the members-only Silks Club on level 2, on the lower levels, there are several boutique shops and fashion / jewellery stores in the Regent Galleria mall plus several concession stalls and dessert stalls including Jean-Paul Hévin.

Families can also make use of the Fairytale game room (Friday and Saturday only).

Regent Taipei Review and Summary

A luxury 5 star hotel in Zhongshan, the Regent Taipei is a truly top Taiwan stay, from the renowned restaurants and relaxing rooms to the amazing views of Taipei 101.

Our huge room and king sized bed were so comfy and we made good use of the Tai Pan lounge several times a day so we didn’t want to leave the hotel at all (well, apart from to use the rooftop pool)!

With so much on your doorstep including many boutique shops, cute cafes and malls, the Regent Taipei has to be one of the best luxury hotels in Taipei in a truly trendy Taipei neighborhood.
