Shopping at Syntrend
As soon as you arrive at Syntrend Creative Park, you realize this is like no other mall in Taiwan – from the pop-ups and huge Pop Mart in the lobby to the neon lights and gravity-defying gaming chairs of the epic esports centers, this is easily Taiwan’s coolest mall.
A must for Taiwan anime and Manga fans, head on to the 6th floor and 7th floor straight away for the collectible stalls and toy shops.
Each level at Syntrend has different themes and types of shops. The Syntrend Creative Park directory is as follows:
Basement – TASTE
A food-court with around a dozen kitchens and restaurants including a branch of the famous Japanese curry chain Coco Ichibanya.
Level 1 – LOOK
Telecoms, esports, gadgets and cafes (like a Starbucks) plus a pop-up exhibition area ;when we visited, it was a pop-up ‘Full Metal Alchemist’.
Level 2- TOUCH
Personal computers, technology lifestyle with brands like Razer (gaming) and Game Throne – this is also where the Syntrend tax refund center and customer services office is based.
Level 3 – STYLE
Virtual Reality experiences at Syntrend like Viveland, travel accessories, ebooks, home gadgets.
Level 4 – HOME
Home electronics, massage chairs (like, LOTS of massage seat showrooms) plus health equipment.
Level 5 – LISTEN
Audio visual equipment, vinyl collectibles, Clapper Studio.
Level 6 – GAME
Taipei’s anime capital; anime figurines and collectibles, toys and games, blind boxes plus a Taipei Gundam Base. It has gashapons galore too.

Games and toys, Anime Cafe, Tomica, IP collectibles and more Manga. YES!

This floor was pretty quiet save for a themed restaurant; Kirabase.

FlagStores at Syntrend
Some of the biggest and best stores at Taipei’s Syntrend Creative Park include:
Pop Mart
Located on the ground floor, whilst not as big as the Taiwan Pop Mart flagship store in Ximending, this bright and beautiful blindbox store has lots of toys plus huge cartoon models. Make your unique toys with the Pop Bean corner.
Republic of Gamers
We spotted several Republic of Gamers stores and gaming lounges in and around Syntrend. Their flagship one is on the ground floor and has a dozen or so gaming stations and displays to delve into.
Lashibang
Newly opened in autumn 2024, this is a little piece of Japan in Taipei. Lashibang is Japan’s biggest second hand store (like Mandarake and Animate) that has over 65 stores worldwide.
Here you can buy second-hand manga gifts and awesome anime items for as little as NT$50.
We spotted everything from ‘Spy x Family’ to ‘Conan The Detective’ plus a big Japanese doll collection.

Viveland VR
A virtual amusement center located on the third floor, this is one of several Vivelands in Asia and combines VR and mixed reality across a series of immersive games. Games include Versus (virtual reality laser tag) and House of Fear Cursed Souls.
Asia Goal
Looking for collectible figures and decadent dolls? Score them and more at Asia Goal on the 6th floor.
Gundam Base
Syntrend is Taipei’s flagship Gundam Base, selling Gundam mech models plus several huge statues and displays.
Kiledo Heaven Arcade
A cool gaming arcade on the sixth floor, here you can play everything from Taiko no Tatsujin the cult Japanese Drumming Game to rhythm games and claw machines. There is so much fun to be had here at Syntrend’s arcade so bring lots of change to put into the machines.
Game Leisure Center
Kind of like an unofficial Nintendo store, this has lots of Mario merchandise and gaming titles – we also found it one of the cheapest collectible stores in the whole of Syntrend e.g we bought a Sumikko Gurashi blind box at Game Leisure Center and it was about 20% cheaper than another store on level 7.
Incidentally, the ceiling lighting on level 6 is crazy – the ceiling panels change colors and flow and ebb like waves of an ocean; very trippy.
Other big brands at Syntrend include DJI, Nikon, Oppo, Samsung, Panasonic, Tomic, Merrel, Casio, Go-Pro, Sony, Asus and Dell. This is just a selection of the stores and brands.
We’d estimate there must be close to 150 to 200 different Syntrend stores, shops and kiosks located across its 13 floors of shopping and dining.

Guang Hua Digital Plaza
Another technology center and smaller mall can be found right next door to Syntrend – Guang Hua Digital Plaza.
Whilst not as flashy or slick as Syntrend, this mall is home to lots of small independent retailers and is a great place to get your gadgets fixed or pick up spare parts.
Huashan 1914 Creative Park
Taiwan’s best creative park (and most bustling), Huashan 1914 Creative Park in Taipei is packed full of permanent and pop-up shops and exhibitions, street performers plus craft beer bars and restaurants.

DON DON DONKI Zhongxiao Xinsheng Store
Japan’s most joyful discount store is now open in Taipei, located a short stroll from Syntrend.
Originally known as Don Quijote in Japan where it has dozens of stores all over the country, Don Don Donki (as it is branded in Taiwan) opened their first Taiwan store in Ximending in 2021 and it now has about 10 Taiwanese stores.
Located over several stories including a big fresh food area (with lots of Japanese food like takoyaki and sashimi / sushi), DON DON DONKI Zhongxiao Xinsheng Store is a great place for late night shopping in Taipei and open from 9am to 11pm daily.
