Exploring Songshan Cultural and Creative Park
We’ve been to the cultural park several times over the last decade and what is nice is that there is something new to see or do everytime we go.
From new exhibitions at the permanent Taiwan Design Museum to pop-ups that last just a few months, there is plenty to see – plus there are lots of nice coffee shops and artisan gift shops inside.

Songshan Cultural and Creative Park consists of five former warehouses and various old plant rooms left over from its time as a tobacco factory.
Like Huashan 1914 Creative Park, this is one of the best cultural parks in Taipei, if not Taiwan.
Some of the best things to see include:
Gift shops galore
Taipei’s shopping centers are great but Songshan Cultural and Creative Park feels unique, as you wander the old halls of the tobacco factory browsing cute craft stores and gorgeous gift shops.
With an emphasis on locally sourced goods, some of the best gift shops here include Design Pin, Unsimple Leather Goods and the rather divine HMS Beagle gift shop. Brand pop-ups and activations are also a regular occurrence.

There are several outdoor spaces at Songshan Cultural and Creative Park, which may prove a respite after all that shopping.

The European style Baroque Garden has a fountain and several scantily clad statues, and used to act as a recreation space for the tobacco factory works.
There is also a huge eco pond (near Cama Coffee Roasters) which is a popular place to watch the ducks on the lake, fish swim or just wander around the wooden bridges and boardwalks – it is a popular spot for locals to eat their lunch boxes too.
