Best places to buy gifts and souvenirs in Taipei
1. Ximending neighbourhood
Taipei’s Ximending neighbourhood is famous for its bright lights, evening bites and late nights – but it also has one of the highest concentration of souvenir shops in Taipei (and the whole of Taiwan).

From socks to stationery, pineapple cake to postcards, whilst the majority of souvenir shops in Ximending might not be unique or distinctive, there is a lot of choice – plus all the competition between stores keeps the prices down. It is also home to Taiwan’s flagship Pop Mart store.
Also check out the Red House for some lovely gift stalls.

The historic district of Dihua Street and Dadaocheng in Taipei is perhaps most famous for its amazing architecture, traditional Chinese medicine shops and temples.

Some of the best Yongkang shops include Jumeng Creative Market and Ma Ma Umbrella.

7. Maokong
If you are heading up to the Maokong Hills on the gondola (possibly after a trip to Taipei Zoo), as well as incredible views of Taipei, you’ll find lots of cute tea houses selling tea plus a small assortment of souvenir shops.
8. Yingge
A 30 minute train ride from Taipei Main Station brings you to Yingge, Taipei’s Ceramics Capital.
Famous for all of its pottery workshops and ceramic manufacturers, Yingge has a traditional old street plus several massive new museums.

A former wine factory, Huashan 1914 Creative Park in Taipei’s Zhongzheng district is home to cute cafes plus incredible crafts and unique souvenirs. Check out their Wooderful Life store for unique Taiwan toys made from wood.

12. Syntrend Creative Park Mall
Taiwan’s trendiest shopping center, this 13 floor shopping center specialises in technology, gaming, photography and electronics.
As well as famous brands like Pop Mart and Bose, we bought our DJI drone here and found it a lot cheaper than in Europe. Read our Syntrend guide >

13. 7-Eleven, Carrefour or Taoyuan Airport
Our final Taiwan and Taipei souvenir and gift shopping recommendation is for those last-minute shoppers.
Whilst not great on choice, Taoyuan International Airport has duty free shops and gift shops should you need a (very) last minute gift at departures.

Taipei’s larger 7-Eleven stores often sell Taiwan branded gifts like magnets plus packaged food souvenirs like boxed pineapple cakes.
The themed 7-Elevens in Taipei also have various cartoon character merchandise like Snoopy, Mofusand and Hello Kitty.
People also seem to love Carrefour in Taiwan for souvenirs and gifts too (but possibly more food and drink related).
